POP-UP with Holocene-OR,  Black Square-WA & Clos Lointain-Languedoc France with Carrie Alexander
WEDNESDAY 3-5:30 pm

September 24, 2025

We welcome back Carrie Alexander to show off her and Todd's new project from France along with highlighting their NW projects from Oregon and Washington. This is quite the line-up of exciting wines.  Not to be missed!

Holocene wines are high-quality, small-production Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Oregon's Willamette Valley, founded by winemaker Todd Alexander and his wife Carrie. The wines emphasize terroir and minimal intervention, using whole-cluster fermentation and native yeasts to create elegant, balanced, and complex wines that showcase the unique characteristics of each vineyard site. Holocene's winemaking philosophy, established with the 2015 vintage, focuses on sustainability, purity of fruit, and low-impact methods, resulting in wines that are both refined and reflective of their cool-climate origins.

Clos Lointain is a French wine label from the Roussillon region, known for its organically farmed, old-vine wines. The name, which translates to "Distant Enclosure" or "Faraway Vineyard," refers to the project's quiet, high-elevation vineyards in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. The label is a passion project of Washington state-based winemakers Todd and Carrie Alexander. Todd and Carrie Alexander acquired two dry-farmed vineyards in Roussillon, France, in 2022. The Alexanders have nearly two decades of experience in the wine industry, including 10 years working on acclaimed projects in the Pacific Northwest.

The Black Square is a new winery founded by Todd and Carrie Alexander, focused on producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rocks District of the Walla Walla Valley in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. Todd Alexander, known for his work at esteemed wineries like Bryant Family Vineyard and Force Majeure, is committed to crafting a unique, elegant, and complex expression of Cabernet from this unique terroir. The inaugural 2022 vintage is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing the distinctive cobblestone soils and aromatic complexity of the region.
