On Wine Hill

2017 “Loess” Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner
Willamette Valley, Oregon, $21.99

“Known as ‘Wine Hill’ pre-prohibition, this hill above Forest Grove was planted to many wine grapes by the Reuter, Wirtz, and Stetler failies in the late 1800’s. These German immigrants planted many grapes form their homelands, as well as hybrids of the era. Our ‘Loess’ is a blend of Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Sylvaner, and is an homage to these original wine pioneers. This wine is: Dry, Native Fermented, Unfiltered, Unfined (Vegan), and was made with vines that were: Own Rooted, Dry Farmed from a vineyard that was planted in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s in Loess soils. Truth will out!” Winery Notes.
