Casa de Mouraz

Blanco & Tinto, 2015 & 2014
Dao, Portugal

2015 Bianco

From old vines, with mixed and simultaneously fermented grape varieties. A striking wine in the purest tradition of Dão, including about 15 different varieties. It has great body, great structure, and acidity that's to the point. The perfect balance, so characteristic of the region. It has remarkable ability to convey a rounded weight in the mid-palate while maintaining crisp minerality. That means it can handle full-flavored fish dishes, but can also be just fine on it's own. Croquetas de Bacalao were made for a wine like this.  A blend of Encruzado, Malvasia-Fina, Bical, Cerceal-Branco, Rabo-de-Ovelha, Fernão-Pires, Uva-Cão, Síria and others.

2014 Vinho Tinto

Lots of grape varieties from assorted vineyard plots of different ages, heights and exposures. A blend of Touriga-Nacional, Tinta-Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Água-Santa, Tinta-Pinheira and Baga. Meaty plums and black cherries dominate flavors with a medium frame.  Very easy to please type wine.
