Summer Rose Offerings
Muga 2012 Rose, Rioja Spain
This is an outrageously good rose wine, made in a style known in Rioja as "Clarete" this tradition is based primarily in the Oja River area and particularly in the valley of Najerilla. This blending of red and white grapes and using Garnacha from cool weather areas of Rioja makes possible this “Clarete”. Its aroma is enveloping and intense throughout - with a predominance of fresh fruit- citrus , pineapple, kiwi with a strong tendency towards sweet, ripe apple and quince. 60% Garnacha, 30% Viura, 10% Tempranillo
Borsao 2012 Rose Aragon Spain
Iridescent to the eye, with savory red orchard fruit on the nose. On the palate wild strawberries and tart cherries with just a hint of tangerine. Follows with a long mineral driven finish. An upstart of a rose that would sell for double the cost were it from Provence. Irresistible, and a no-brainer of a value. 100% Grenache

Mas des Bressades 2012 Costieres de Nimes, France
Not the fruity red bomb, it's dry with dried red fruits and rhubarb. The perfect choice wth mixed olives, hummis, roasted vegetables and grilled fish. This is a shy one, that is why we like it so. 50 % Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20 Cinsault. The 99-acre estate is considered by many as the top estate in Costieres de Nimes, located 35 miles southwest of Chateauneuf-du Pape, on the western side of the Rhone.

Lost River 2012 Rose Columbia Valley Washington
New shop favorite. John nailed it with this one. Juicy strawberry and watermelon comes gushing in, then the acid checks into place and finishes dry. As the winery puts it-“This is an excellent summer-time cocktail wine and paired with barbecue, charcuterie and fried chicken.”
They are dead on.
A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah.

Terredora di Paolo 2012 Rosaenovae, Campania Italy We love how this wine draws you in with it's subtle shyness. The nose is very tight but whispers red fruit. On the palate it shows a firmness, but not in a hard board way. Strawberries dominate the profile with peppery spice on the finish. We think a table with meditranean food would rock this out. Olives, fish, cured meats.....sun is shining! 100% Aglianico

Domaine de Couron 2012 Grenache Rose
Last years value play in the Rose world is back. Once again it comes in under that $10 range. We love the simplistic aproach this wine takes. It's all about simple cherry fruit with a dry finish. Don't look to deep into it's eye's, you won't find much. Sometimes just sitting and sipping is all you want. This will do it for you.

Elk Cove 2012 Pinor Noir, Willamette Valley Oregon
This one is all about being pretty, but not in a dolled up kinda way. This Oregon pink shows bright cherry fruit through a vale. Then strawberries and watermelon finish gracefully. Crisp and light on it’s feet it would really pears nicely with grilled prawn salad. Founded in 1974 and is still family owned and operated.
Prieure de Montezargues 2012 Tavel, Tavel France

Marquis de Monistrol nv Cava Brut Rose, Penedes Spain
A blend of Monastrell and Pinot Noir. Beautiful pale rose color, this cava is all about red fruits-strawberries and raspberries. We like the mid palate cream that it brings then goes into clean up mode on the finish. Nice and tidy and dry. Brunch wine.
