Mount Eden Vineyards
Santa Cruz Mountains Sat 2-4 pm

May 25, 2019

In 1942 the charismatic maverick, Martin Ray planted the Mount Eden vineyard on top of a high peak in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  After learning his craft from Burgundian winemaker Paul Mason, Martin was the first winery in California to bottle single varietals.  Since 1981 Jeffrey Patterson has guided this special parcel of land.  Jeffrey produces three wines from the mother estate-Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. This winery has been in our sites for a very long time.  Ted has personally sold Jeffrey's wine for over 20 vintages.  We believe once you try these wines you to will become a believer.  If these wines had the Napa Valley zip code, the would easily sell for over $100 mark.  But once again we find a zone outside the major area's to bring you wines that over deliver.  For those of you who enjoy cellering your wines, Mount Eden can hang with the best.  We just opened a 1994 Estate Chardonnay that was truly spectacular and very much alive.

We welcome Ellie Patterson, co-owner of the winery, to present these wines.

Saturday, May 25th 2-4pm. No fee tasting.
