Columbia Valley, WA, $17.99
The 2017 Rosé is a blend of three traditional Châteaunuefdu-Pape varieties—Grenache, Counoise and Cinsault—all grown on our Blackrock Estate Vineyard on the eastern edge of the Yakima Valley AVA. The individual blocks were harvested by hand in mid-September and loaded directly into the press, while the clusters were still cold. A gentle and rapid press cycle helped to avoid excessive extraction from the skins, yielding a juice pale pink in color with delicate flavors and aromas. Fermentation was carried out at low temperatures in concrete and stainless steel tanks and continued until dry. After three months of maturation on lees, individual components were racked and blended to create a pure and vibrant rosé. Winery Notes.
