Kelly Fox Wines

Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard Red Barn Block 2014
Dundee Hills, Oregon

Oregon winemaker, Kelly Fox, has my full attention.  We see her passion, fire and drive combined with an ability to make soulful wines that speak of real purity, balance, integrity, excitement and harmony.
2014 is the first year for this very special and very tiny bottling (a total of two barrels, less than100 cases) from blocks surrounding the legendary Maresh Red Barn and farmed by Jim Maresh Sr. personally. Jim planted in 1978 with self-rooted Pommard and still now, at 91 years old, Jim Maresh farms these blocks as he has since the beginning.

Vinous Oregon reviews came out this week and as expected this bottling was rated at the top of the list.
"Highly perfumed, mineral-tinged raspberry, candied cherry, incense and floral oil scents develop a spicy accent with air. Juicy, sweet and light on its feet, offering concentrated red fruit, blood orange and floral pastille flavors that slowly fan out as the wine opens up. The mineral and floral notes drive an extremely long, energetic finish that features silky tannins and a subtle touch of candied orange peel. 100% Whole Cluster."
